According to Sky Sports reporter, Sky Kaveh, 9 English premier clubs – Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolves wrote to The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) calling for Manchester City’s ban from European competitions to be upheld.
“CAS confirm 9 clubs wrote to them in March asking them not to lift Man City’s European ban while City appealed. City never applied for the ban to be lifted. 9 clubs were Arsenal, Burnley, Chelsea, Leicester, Liverpool, Man Utd, Newcastle, Spurs and Wolves,” Kaveh tweeted on Tuesday.
Managers have openly criticized CAS decision to overturn City’s two-year European ban with Jose Mourinho particularly branding the decision to nullify the ban “a disgrace” and “a bad day for football”
