LeBron James’ Lakers and the Clippers have voted to boycott the entire NBA season in lieu of the recent Jacob Blake shooting in Wisconsin. With the Bucks leading the way of initiating boycotting of games, it seems the players are now in favour of boycotting the entire season.
In the currently ongoing players’ meeting in the Disney Bubble, teams are voting on whether to continue playing or to boycott the season entirely.
Players have been heavily affected by racial injustice and the increasing acts of police brutality in the country and want to play a role in changing the scenario all through the nation.
They firmly believe that this boycott would put pressure on the NBA and the owners to use their political influence to enforce change. And now, two of the contenders for the title this season have gone ahead and voted to boycott the remainder of the season.
